Exhibition opening: Wed 25 May, 8-10pm. Free and open to all.
Join us for the opening of our new Reading Room exhibition Olivetti: Beyond Form and Function.
Known for recognising the importance of design over pure functionalism, typewriter company Olivetti are considered one of the leading manufacturers of the mid-20th century.
This display presents photographs, films and ephemera relating to Olivetti’s graphic and spatial design, as well as architecture. Focusing largely on the industrial boom of the post-war era, the display will cover a key period in Olivetti’s history, a time which saw the creation of the iconic Valentine typewriter and the company’s increasing move towards computer technologies.
This event coincides with the opening of our Artists' Film Biennial 2016
Olivetti: Beyond Form and Function runs from 25 May - 17 July.
